  • The School Room

The School Room and Creative Area are completely self contained to cater for children aged between approximately three years and rising fives. • Chessgrove Swim

We are very lucky to have the superb facilities of Chessgrove Swim just opposite the Nursery, and have found this to be a very popular extra curricular activity for our older children.   At Chessgrove Park, we offer swimming classes to children over the age of 3 years (our School Room children).

Each class lasts 30 minutes, in 11 weeks blocks, rotating the day after each 11 weeks. Children who wish to attend these classes will need to bring a swim bag/carrier bag, containing swimwear, towel, any training swim pants, and any other accessories you may wish to add.

Chessgrove Swim will provide floatation devices to keep the children afloat while they gain confidence in the water. Full risk assessments are in place to ensure the children’s safety at the highest possible level.

There are many benefits of swimming at a young age:

    - It helps to build up confidence in the water, making it more enjoyable as the child gets older.

    - As swimming is a gentle form of exercise it will help stretch and tone muscles.

    - It strengthens the heart and lungs.

    - It is a fun experience for the children to share with each other.
